Project Proposal
This project involved an expansion of the existing TATA Memorial Hospital, to accommodate new medical program, including diagnostic and treatment facilities, in-patient rooms and staff and administrative areas. The SNK design was developed keeping in mind the fully operational wings of the existing hospital, as well as the constraints of the site and access restrictions. A detailed study of local regulations and allowable built-up area was presented along with a study of the new building mass to demonstrate the integration of the new wing with the old structures. The distribution of medical program was planned strategically on floors linked to the ad- joining structures to optimize sharing of existing infrastructure and support spaces for the new facility. SNK’s design was one of only two designs shortlisted by the hospital.
