The Cathedral and John Connon Senior School was the second of the four buildings to be taken up for renovation. Located off Dadabhoy Naoroji Road, Fort, Mumbai, this school building is the biggest of all the school buildings and measures over 6000 sq.m.
Phase I, which started in April 1995 was completed in November 1996, essentially consisted of expanding, renovating and upgrading previous r.c.c. extensions. On completion of Phase I, all levels in the school including the old stone building were connected by a common staircase. The toilets were shifted to a central block, accessible from both the old stone building and the r.c.c. Extensions, clearing all the corridors for circulation, as well as simplifying the drainage and plumbing services.Phase II, which started in February 1997, was completed in November 1998. This phase consisted of renovating and upgrading the old stone building. The problems encountered in this building were similar to those of the Middle School.
This school has also won the “ IIA-Kitply Award for conservation “ in 1998.
