The design for the new campus of School of Planning and Architecture at Vijayawada was proposed as part of an all-India competition and to be developed as an eco-friendly campus with state-of-the-art facilities. The proposed campus comprises of an academic block, co-curricular as well as residential facilities for students and staff. The site has been organized in such a way that the prevalent wind passes through the forest and the water body, thereby reducing the ambient temperature. The buildings have been oriented with the shorter side towards west direction to reduce unwanted heat gain.
